How Maui Slowed the Sun.

1. What is the title of the story? 
‘’How Maui Slowed the Sun’’.

 2. When did the events in the story happen? 
In the day time and night.

3. Why were the days short and the nights long?
Because the sun would never go down slow it would disappear fast

4. Why were people unhappy? 
 They had to eat late and also because they did not finish the jobs they started.

5. What did the people do? 
They tried to run away from the sun.


6. Why didn’t Maui do anything at first?
Because his brothers pulled the ropes and he was the one to alarm them.

7. Why did Maui change his mind?
Because the sun gave up on the fight.


8. What did Maui and his brothers make? 
A hangi for their evening meal and flax ropes.


9. What did they do when they had made the ropes?
They put the ropes where the sun was about to rise.


10. Why did they travel towards the east?
Because that's where the sun sets.


11. Why did they travel at night?
Because he wasn’t awake to see all of them.


12. What did they do when the sun started to rise?
They stood quietly there waiting until the sun went into their trap.


13. Why couldn’t the sun get free?
Because the sun was too strong.


14. When did the brothers let go of the ropes?
When he gave up on the fight with the sun.


15. What did the sun do after the brothers let go of the ropes?
They started to pull the sun slowly.

Because his problem was solved.
