3 fun facts about NZ.
1. The Maori name of New Zealand in Aotearoa which means the land of the long white cloud
2. New Zealanders are also called kiwis but kiwi is not a fruit. It is New Zealand's native flightless bird.
3. The largest city in New Zealand is Auckland although its capital city is Wellington

I recently found out that Wellington is our capital city because of it's location. Our capital used to be Auckland but it was changed in 1865 because it was thought that Auckland (being in the top half of the North Island) was too far for South Island MPs (Members of Parliament) to travel to. So the more centrally located city of Wellington was chosen to take its place. Interesting, hey? Have you been to Wellington before?
